  • Student tower

Student accommodation central Plymouth. It's the tallest building in the city but I have no idea why they gave the top of it the "modern church" look. Click image for larger version

I know this isn't a critique board, but I will break my own rule to say that this really isn't a good result -it's grey and lifeless. I really do think Bololoco that there is something at the heart of your image processing that is not right. I really want to help, not trying to be negative at all.

      Critique away. It's perfectly ok.

I think where this image fails is that I blew out the highlights and I tried recovering them with compression and it just wasn't going to work.

Had I shot it in HDR, I would never have over exposed it.

It's a forum rule not to make critical judgment in any board, apart from the critique board, but I really want to help you to fix this if I can.

I think that actual photo is beyond fixing. The highlights are lost. I overexposed. The end.

The only way to fix it is to take it again.
