The first one is me trying to subjugate the moon.

The sparkly one is only different because of the blend mode I used and a small bit of tweaking.

The blue one was pretty much sooc, albeit with haze removal.

Now I never know whether I should ask, "which one do you like best" or "which one do you dislike most"? Click image for larger version Name:	Under the magic moonlight edit.jpg Views:	0 Size:	165.2 KB ID:	991693 Click image for larger version Name:	Under the magic moonlight. I like the second one. It might be even more effective with that pale horizontal line removed.

I think it's actually an aircraft trail, rather than a horizon line.

My favourite is the last one, straight out of the camera, although I could really do with a quality 1000mm lens and get some proper detail. My mirror lenses are ok but they're definitely soft.

Mirror lenses could be very good with film but I have found them inadequate for digital.

I'm quite ok with my MTO 500A with a 2x tele. It's not sharp sooc but it can be made to be quite visibly pleasant.

I've not yet gotten to grips with my MTO 1000A but I think that's because it needs an internal clean and it's so damned heavy. Also, i've not yet found the right tele for it. I'm after a 3x tele, so I can do some super extreme distance shots.

The best telescopes are Maksutovs, although I think mirror technology has improved a lot since these old russian monsters. Apparently, Canon have patented some mirrors lens designs in the past year, between 300mm and 2000mm, so I expect them to be much better than the MTO's.

      We'll see.
