My Grandniece Abby who I had not taken a picture of for six years paid a visit, so I plonked her in my favourite place in the garden where the light is always good whatever the weather or time of day (she insisted on holding my Jack chi dog) and took a snap.

    Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

Nice posed portrait - she comes out well.

Alas the dog suffers a bit, worthy of his/her own portrait I suspect.

The general advice is never to work with animals or children but I think you've pulled it off - a fine picture!

        Re: Abby

Thank you Nick, and yes using f3.2 to throw the background out of focus I knew the dog would be out out of focus to.

I'd rather have had her put my Bella (who she was loving to bits) down but I'm sure if I had, that loverly smile would have dissapeared and this was one for the family album.

        Thank you John.

Heres a pic of Bella in focus.

        Regards Paul.

I'm sure the smile was worth the indignity to the dog.

Bella looks a most thoughtful and considerate soul in her portrait so I'm sure she understood.
