Where is the sports thread
just coming back here and could not find the sports "fred" ....I moved to M4/3 for the lighter kit for when I am traipsing up and down the sidelines .... and suspected a lot of other would too. Are there many sports shooters out there?

I do - mostly rugby, occasional cricket (if it ever stops raining) and very occasional dabbles in other sports. From time to time I put up the odd pic that I am pleased with, but they don't seem to provoke much reaction. I don't think it is because they are rubbish. It's more that most people here are simply not interested in the subject and don't have any desire to comment. Which is fine - it's not compulsory!
For what it's worth, I think this is an excellent shot. See what you mean about the background though. Maybe the cure for that is to go back to full frame and sell the house so you can get a 400mm f/2.8

I like it. With reference to the background I think mono is a good move but what aperture and focal length was this shot at?Roy

I'm new here so I may be missing something but there is a sub-forum for Motorsports but not for general sports. Is there anyone, an admin user, that can add a sub-forum or are these fixed?

Try out the new features in Photoshop to blur out that background. I'm sure it would work a treat on that shot.
