It's a part of the US I have never explored in detail. The whole of New York State is certainly worth visiting, it's huge and goes all the way to the Canadian border. Piermont Pier on the Hudson River is where the majority of the US troops who went to Europe in WW2 left from. The government took over and extended the pier for the troop carriers.
