This is the stable clock, made by Veitch of Haddington, above our door. Unfortunately it's not possible to get at the mechanism as a former caretaker lost the key!! So it's always 10 to 4. Correct twice a day!
Taken with my E-30 fitted with a Tamron SP90 (thanks, Snaarman) and everything set to manual. Aperture was f8.

As a footnote to this, we managed to gain entry to the clock mechanism last week. I gave it an experimental couple of turns with the winder, gave the pendulum a kick, and off it went! Lasted 2 hours. I'm not publicising the fact around the estate in case I get the job of winding it daily!

Well, every Monday morning I have to wind over 20 long-case clocks and half a dozen mantle clocks. It's fun when the clocks go back, as they all have to be forwarded 11 hours to synchronise the chimes!
I just wonder how many others have had the privilege before you Stephen. That is an amazing piece of machinery and for it to stand the test of time and still be in working order bears testament to the skill of the makers and the tlc with which it has been looked after
