  • My farm animal shots

Had great fun down on the farm

The wind was howling and blowing clouds and showers over all day. Loads of blown highlights as conditions changed so quickly. Ended up in a barn surrounded by donkeys, alpacas, llamas, sheep, shetland ponies etc. Had two of my kids there who were in the middle of the feeding frenzy, so that made for a nervous dad. Some of the llamas had that look about them... the one that says, I am working up a great big mouthful of something nasty to launch at you if you point that camera in my direction Yes I was very nervous. In fact I have not laughed so much since my vasectomy.

All pics taken with the E510 and 14-42. Indoors shots using the on camera flash. No filters, no tripod and only an occassional glance at the histogram followed by the phrase "s**t"

    Enjoy

The expression on the face of #3 made me laugh! And anything that makes me laugh on a wet Monday morning is very welcome. Thanks.

Glad to hear you and the family had a great time Greg.

I'm suprised you did not use the 40-150 as the e-510 handles up to iso800 quite well.

It certainly looks wet and windy and muddy, no5 is my favourite
      Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

I agree with Bob, no3 is my favourite, you have done a good job focusing on the eyes and all the important bits are sharp where they need to be, so well done

Did you capture any interaction with people petting the animals ?

          Thanks for the comments fellas.

Glad I made you smile on such a dreich day Bob

Paul I used the 14-42 because everything was happening right in front of me. The paddock the animals were in was, as you have noted, a mud bath, near the feed points.

Steve, I have a few shots with the kids in. I will post a couple and you can let me know what you think.

            Re: My farm animal shots

Where were these photos taken? I have a feeling that I've been to this farm on the several occasions that I've travelled up to Aberdeen.

That wasn't the one I went to. The farm I visited was near Aberdeen, though I've been around much of Scotland at one time or another and been bitten by most of the midges. However, I've since discovered Avon "Skin So Soft" which sounds 'pansyish' but which the army uses. Great stuff!
