  • Two local churches.

This one is St Margarets,Stamford Rivers.I've visited this place several times and never seen anyone around. All you can hear are thr Rooks.

The second is St Andrew at Greensted which is about 3 mile from St Maragets.Totally different to St Margarets with people cleaning and working on the churchyard, jam and pickles for sale etc.
This church is according to the blurb the oldest wooden church in the world.

Both picture from 5 bracketed shots and processed in Photomatix.

Ps I tried to clone out the lens flare on the right of the second but could not get it right.

First time I've played with tonemapping for ages.

    Any comments welcome.

Very nice Andy, though you are right the lens flare is a distraction - churches are prone to it as light comes in from inconvenient angles.

Were these taken with the 7-14?, I presume so though I'm a bit surprised you got away with F5.6.

Nice examples of the variety to be found in churches, as these are both simple structures made for a common purpose.

Might have hidden the vicars copy of the Daily Sport though.

Two nice shots Andy. I like the contrast between the styles of the two similar size churches.
No. 1 has a minimalist feel but a fascinating roof design, can't recall seeing one like that before.
No. 2 is my favourite, it has a nice warm feel with all that wood. I think the "elf n safety " brigade's fire exit sign would benefit from the cloning treatment. Must have an obsessive verger the way those hymn/prayer books are stacked and positioned.

        Thanks for sharing
