BTW, how do you do your tone mapping - I've seen some of your pretty impressive results?

Here's a quick edit of your jpg in LightRoom... I played with the levels, saturation and vibrance settings to come up with this...
Do you have Lightroom... if so I am happy to save the develop preset for you (if I can figure out how to then send it to you!)John

Thanks for the kind words. I tone map using Photomatix. I shoot unusually as I only have an EV step of 1 which means taking 3 shots, each shot at 0, +1 and -1 (normally its EV2 steps). Then combine them in photomatix to make a "HDR" image and finally use photomatix to tonemap, I like grittyness so I do tend to over cook them which means the strength is normally set to 100%
Any questions or setting you need give us a shout and I'll happily send you some settings
Cheers

Yes I use lightroom (used capture one4 for these shots though) Its very kind of you to offer a develop preset and would love to use it. You always get the sharpness and colours of all your shots SPOT ON!
my email addy is [email protected] if you don't mind sending the file?
Cheers

Re: Mugdock Castle
Hey Garrie - I have my wife just arriving home in 10 mins from picking her Dad up from Heathrow and then an online conference call and demo (yep - on a Sunday too!!) until around 20:00. I need to figure out how to get the preset to you, but rest assured I shall find out.
Glad you liked the result...

Garrie -
Thanks for showing the Castle. Anne and I lived in Bearsden for four years (1970/4) and never visited it. Shameful I know - some parts look in pretty good order.
Regards. Barr1eJust like that - gone in a flash! Now in use.

Turn any high-contrast scene into a perfectly exposed HDR image. Photomatix includes merge to HDR, batch processing and presets for real estate photography.

Yeah I'm a signmaker, I own my own little sign shop that I run part time at the moment, intend to go full time very shortly
We produce all sorts of Vinyl graphics, Windows, Vehicles (Commercial and Motorsport), Signs, Tray signs, flat cut letters and decals etc. We also produce T Shirts using vinyl flex (not screen printed, Vinyl flex is a better quality of print). We have 2 cutters/plotters (610mm and 1220mm), A massive heat press however we don't currently own a digital printer, all our digital jobs get subbed out to a local company.
I was thinking of PM'ing Ian and advising that we can produce some E-Group/E-System car stickers/decals or lens hood decals for you guys.
Cheers
