This appeals to me so much. I see this printed on a GRAND SCALE, matted and framed. GORGEOUS.
What does ICM stand for? (Internal camera manipulation?)

That's a very good example of ICM. Not managed to pull it off very well myself yet.

Thanks PaulOriginally posted by pdk42 View PostTruly excellent Alf. I like it a lot. ICM can be hard to pull off.
JeffOriginally posted by blackfox View PostI presume that’s done with camera on tripod ,long exposure ,then moved left or right ?
I usually work handheld. Some will work on a tripod but the speed of movement is key based on shutter speed whether it is vertical horizontal or rotation but zooming can work too.
As Ian said there are people who throw the camera in the air whether it is a long exposure or on a timer is up to you.

Seems a bit over complicated to me!Originally posted by Graham_of_Rainham View PostI made a bracket for my “tough” camera and rotated it in a drill (hand and electric)…
I am a bit spontaneous with my ICM shots.

I see this as the photographic equivalent of the impressionist movement in art favoured by Monet , Van Gogh et. . When it works its is really interesting and enjoyable especially when the movement enhances the light properties of the objects in the photograph. Other times it can give you more modern abstact images.
It seems to me that the quality of the final image is a matter of personal taste and and your experieces . Alfs is a good example of an ICM that draws me in with the light and colours giving an impression of a cold mountain scene with a lake surrounded in swirling mist. It would be interesting to hear what others see 😀

I agree it is a form of expressionist art as are other forms I play with to get different results
