        I'd say it looks good enough to eat, but I don't know what type it is so i wouldn't risk that

          It is a Boletus and the one pictured is edible. The tree it is associated with would tell you more. There is one poisonous species, which I have never seen.

          I suspect it is a birch boletus myself quite tasty

          This common edible Autumn mushroom is not as firm and tasty as the best boletes, but mixed with other mushrooms it’s not bad. Because it’s a very common mushroom it can really help to bulk your basket and it’s a really easy one for beginners.

            Excellent subject shot but I find the 'black' background most off putting, contrasted against the light foreground.

            Could have added a nice sky in there with Lum 4.
