Green woodpeckers and one with a flourish

I've had a green woodpecker in this corner of the garden before, near the kitchen window. Despite it being rather gloomy outside, I rushed up to find the E-M1X, fitted a 40-150 Pro with MC-14 and pointed it through an upstairs (double-glazed) window rather than go back downstairs only for it to be gone. It was till there:



I wondered if I had been spotted because it did this:



But I think the reason for this behaviour was the arrival of:



The first one then flew off, leaving the second to start foraging. I read they go for ants and have long tongues...





And that's fine by me

This is the second time I've managed to photograph green woodpeckers. I've seen them at others times as well but not yet seen any other types so far. You could hear them a lot in the Spring!
