This southern hawker (I think but feel free to correct me) spent quite a while resting in our garden and was still enough to try some in-camera hand-held focus stacks. This image is the JPEG straight out of the camera with no processing other than a re-size for posting. I just about clipped the right wings but hopefully have got away with it. The background is a bit messy but the beast ignored me when I asked it to move. We have had a lot of dragonfly nymphs emerging from our pond this year and last and also adults laying eggs, which they seem to do on the pond edges rather than directly into the water.

Shot with the E-M1X + 40-150mm f/2.8 + MC-14. I plan to try getting to grips with Hugin and Enblend so that I can align and stack the RAW images and thereby get more scope for post-processing. Does anyone have experience of using these?
Cheers,
JohnGG
