Andy Goldsworthy is an artist that has been commissioned to install several artworks around the North Dale (Just off Rosedale) and we were lucky enough to get a sneak preview before the installations are fully completed.
The walk takes most of a day, although it is only 6 miles or so, mainly because you tend to stop and look at each installation for so long.
The installation is called Hanging Stones, and if you Google it you'll find a lot more information about it all.

The first building is Called Hanging Stones and you go into the upstairs area first, to be confronted with...

A very large stone set into the floor.... and then you go to the downstairs area....

And suddenly, the Hanging Stones title makes sense... It's massive and slightly breathtaking!

And not touching the ground!

Next up was a small barn, next to a more modern large barn! and inside...

This fills the barn, I needed a fisheye to get the full effect...

again with flash!

Another small barn...

And inside a burnt tree...
If you've been to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, this may be familiar to you!

To put the barn into the landscape...

The next barn is approached from across a few fields

...and isn't quite complete yet...

But inside the installation is well underway, all the installations reflect the surrounding land, and barbed wire is ever present... There were rolls and straight pieces laid out outside so it's not complete inside nor outside yet!
There's too many images for one post, so see part two below
