Taken on the morning of the celebrations of the re-introduction of the Flying Scotsman in January 2016. Hand Held. Olympus OMD EM 1. First outing with the 40-150 F2.8. which was a combined birthday and Christmas present f6.3, ISO 400, 1/500th sec. Cropped to to emphasise the locomotive and the sky cooked a bit because I used this one in a number of club competitions from about 2019 onwards. The original edits had a cleaner looking frost and sky but this edit was an attempt to cater to the circuit judges and I rendered it like this so the club could use it in a competition. This is as far as I would push the file as I thought anything further and to would cease to look realistic. It was only after cropping it so much I realised it's not actually perfectly sharp. So far thought, judges have not mentioned this. They tend to ask for the sky to be more dramatic or the telegraph polls and wires to be removed.

Plenty of atmosphere in this shot. I think the frost helps make the foreground more interesting.
