Hmm not sure what you were comparing here cameras or lenses?

To be honest though I think you've sharpened the images way to much as they look very artificial to me. A little less sharpening and they would all look great imho.

Over sharpening was my initial reaction as well.

Looking at the images on this forum I agree 100% ... they are not like this in PS or Bridge or even Windows Viewer !!

Wonder what I did in the upload.

They are still great shots of the red.

Something is a bit odd as the attached file doesn't look quite as contrasty as the same image direct in the post. So not quite sure what has happened here. Maybe it's just the resize method the site uses messing them up?

All very nice shots, but as others have said, the sharpening is definitely too harsh - however it's happened.

I noticed what appeared to be over sharpening on another post the other day. When I clicked on the image for a larger view it was fine. I suspect it’s a forum ”feature”. I’m using an iPad Mini at the moment so can’t say for sure, but again if I click on the image it looks fine. Great shots too!

Agreed on the way they look in the post but they look lovely when clicked on.

It it is so nice to see Red's. I spent 11 years in New Jersey and was plagued with Grey's and now I'm back and in Manchester and again no Red's in the garden just a few Grey's.

There are quite a few reds hereabouts, with a fair colony up at Snaizeholme off Upper Wensleydale. Killhope Mining Museum in Weardale has loads with a good hide to watch them from.

A beautiful part of the world.

A trip is in the planning when we can finally make such trips again.
