Lovely canal side images. Ages since I've been on a canal boat, great holidays.

A very nice set of photos. We did a canal holiday last year with some friends on the Lancaster canal. Very much enjoyed it - no lock gates to deal with and our friend skippered the boat, it feels like ages ago now!

Yes they can be hard work but a canal without any would be a bit boring I feel.

If you go on the unfashionable bits it can be plenty hard work without locks - often short of water, all sorts of **** dumped in the canal, "friendly" locals lobbing missiles......

I have never operated a lock gate. I’m not generally lazy but after having shoulder surgery a few years back
I didn’t fancy operating a windlass it looks like hard and painful winding work! Lancaster canal was a bit shallow in places and needed some pole work at times though.

I'm pleased with all the likes and comments and appreciate your time looking at the pix.
The day was one of those where the lighting and camera performed well including my ever present model Anne.
Thanks.
.Just like that - gone in a flash!
Now in use.
