    The Old Farm

Yesterday, to keep the creative juices flowing I headed off into the fog towards Black Swamp,
which due to the heavy rains over the past few weeks, I knew there should be plenty of photo ops.
But on the way, an old barn and a stockman's cottage caught my eye, as well as a herd of Black Angus bulls !

Very rustic with nicely muted colours. But for some variance in the building design it could be just up the road from here.

Thanks John, as you must know, Australian colonial architecture followed the English tradition. I don't know exactly how far these buildings date back, but I would guess early 19th century when the country was crawling with Poms

Love the framing on the first, and colours.

Still in the mist on the 2nd, and the Stockman's cottage is great, nestled in the trees..:-))

Thanks Mark, both buildings were shot from the roadside. There was emphatic sign telling people not to trespass. It is not hard to understand why given the risk of vandalisation.

Great shots Mark. The fog and the damp really add to the mood. What Black Swamp? - I looked for it on Google Maps and found one near Tenterfield in NSW and one near Stanthorpe in Southern Queensland. I figured that both were a bit too far for you to go to for a day's outing.

Thanks Larry, The area known locally as the Black Swamp lies about 25kms north of Wang, At north Wang', you turn left into Boorhaman Rd and turn right (East) at the Boorhaman Pub into Boland Road.
The so called Black Swamp is about 10kms from the pub. In summer it dries up completely unless there happens to be lots of rain over a couple of weeks. See images in my new thread, 'Luvaduck'.

Three very nice scenes Mark - the recent rains certainly shows through.

Thanks John, #2 is also my pick of the three. The brief appearance of the sun through a hole in the fog brought me to a screeching halt on the verge.
I was about thirty seconds too late to capture a glimpse of misty blue sky through the opening, but lucky enough to have got the sun before it fogged over.

Yes just enough fog to make some nice images. #2 best for me too.
