  • Best Of A Bad Job

Just had a week on the Norfolk Coast with a few decent photo opportunities. Shame I screwed up with the camera settings. In fact, serves me right for shooting JPEGS. It was only at the end of the week that I realized that I had the noise filter set to "High" which does smooth out rather a lot of detail. Had I shot raw, of course, I could have subsequently switched off the noise filter in "Master." I find raw is a real pain with little benefit over JPEGS, except in a situation like this, of course. Lesson learned.

Anyway, here's a shot I took at sunrise on the beach at Happisburgh, which relies more on atmosphere than detail. Hopefully it's turned out not too bad!

Well I like it John, I would agree that the atmosphere is its greatest asset, Good use of thirds all round the frame.

I guess this will have been an earlyish start.

Thanks Neil. It was quite an early start, but not too bad at this time of year! None of the 3.00am nonsense we have to endure in mid-summer!
