  • North Norfolk Weekend

Barrie and I have just spent the weekend with friends who have in the last couple of years retired to Norfolk - a wonderful part of the country to visit.
Three of the following pix were taken within five minutes walk of their house and the other in a neighbouring village just a few minutes by car.

    1. A forgotten backwater of Alderfen Broad

    2. Alderfen Broad with background autumn colours showing on the opposite bank

    3. Sunshine ripened berries spotted on the walk back from the Broad

    4. The 15th Century Rood Screen at St. Michael and All Angels Church at Barton Turf

    Ann1e, those are beautiful.

I particularly like the first one, the colours all go so well together to make a very relaxing sort of picture which suits your description

It's the last one for me, Annie. How did you manage to just light on some of the best late 15th century painting in the country (not just the county!)?

      Regards,

      Andrew

Another superb set, Ann1e, showing a great eye for detail and excellent eye for lighting. Number 2 just needs a sliver trimmed off the top to lose those bright patches of sky.

Ellie - Thank you for your comments - I'm glad you liked the selection.

Andrew - Yes, the paintings are beautiful. The pic was taken without flash at ISO800 and I think this particular one worked reasonably well because of the angle at which it was taken and because the chancel was lifted with natural light. Other pix taken at the same time at different angles and at other ISO settings did not work quite so well.

John - Thank you for your comments. You are absolutely right about pic No. 2 -it is very much improved with a 'top' trim!

          Regards, Ann1e
