  • Hiding in plain sight

Now as you know, I don't normally do macros of bugs but I spotted this monster on a rose leaf. This one inch thingy was so large that even I could get a snap of it.

I assume he got that big by eating our garden

You should do bugs more often, Pete, this one's a cracker!

I assume it was taken either with a milk bottle strapprd to a pair of toys binoculars or some obscure lens manufactured in Mongolia at the turn of the last centuary, mounted on an extention tube home made from a toilet roll tube.

Whatever it was, it works a treat!

Now methinks you are taking the mickey :-)

Of course it should have been a trusty old Tamron, but it was actually the 50mm ZD plus the EC14

Well I never! It just shows that the 50mm ZD is really no better than a milk bottle strapped to a pair of toy binoculars.....You've just saved me a lot of money!

        Great picture!

Very nice Pete - if a tad conventional in the choice of lens.

A corker of a picture Pete.

              Is the creature a cricket?
