  • another butterfly by my wife

She is now getting hooked, and she has laid claim to my ZD 70-300. However the results are getting better.

Gate Keeper taken at Wicken Fen with the E500 and ZD70-300.

    Please leave comments thank you.

    Barrie,

Its a nice image, but the colour looks a bit off on my monitor on this one?

<ducks> - as opposed to the images submitted by your wife!<ducks>

My monitor is profiled, and the butterfly colour looks right for a tattered first generation butterfly. Surprised she's still about.

I don't want to make a deal about it, nor have a go at Barrie, its just that there seems to be a bit of a magenta cast - I can see it in the background grass as well.

        No cast with Annie's.

Looked at it with Firefox and Opera.

My wife did the same thing. She purchased the 70-300 for a xmax/b-day present a few years ago.....however she now "Owns" it.

Do you find that your wife "Just" takes pictures, where are you (we) fuss about the technical aspects? (or is it just me)

          Anyway, nice shots.

I like the flower heads in this

When I started I took a complete session of Robin shots with a cast like this...it was the W.B...Been messing about and left it on wrong setting.

Re: another butterfly by my wife

I took the same butterfly but from a slightly different angle with the E30 and the magenta cast was reflecting in the grass from the purple flowers around, I could have got rid of the cast but my wife liked the image as it was. but considering this was only here second outing with a DSLR then I think the detail and compsition are good.

I thought the purple of the flower looked a bid deep, but new flowers can look like that.
I can't see it in the grass, but then I see different colours out of each eye.

                  Barrie,

The seed heads and the butterfly are dead sharp.

Was a tripod used? if not then shirley has got steady hands.

The shot was taken hand held with the ZD 70-300 and E500 no IS
