    Re: Barn owl

You must have some darn fine pictures if you just rescued this one

The clarity of the face on something that is obviously moving is excellent

Didn't you see the wire above the owl? But I admit it was well done.

Neither did I. Sorry That comment belongs to the lounge
A beautiful sharp image. I would be very proud of it.

              Re: Barn owl

They've always struck me as a most inappropriately shaped bird, never yet had the patience/opportunity to photograph one. But that shape/face when you aren't expecting it at night.

              Lovely shot

                Re: Barn owl

                Thanks for your comments folk.
Nick, I think the face shape has to do with channeling sounds to their ears so they can better hear their prey.

Peter D, no wires were used getting this shot :-) (Good idea though)

Photo Owl, try to get to Eagle Heights near Eiynsford in Kent, they do flying displays and you can get some good shots there. No, this was not taken there, taken at the British Falconry Centre.

                  Re: Barn owl

A place where I go fishing has a few barn owls we often see, and they are amazing to watch. Usually appear about dusk on the hunt. Beautiful creatures and a fantastic image.

                  regards

                  John.

the owls were to fat to fly! (their comments not mine) but I got some shots - just the one here

                    thanks again
