  • My New Mate

Well yesterday being a perfect Spring day, I hooked up with a new mate (buddy) who I introduced to the camera club.
We ambled along by the river taking the odd photo, just chatting and getting to know one another. We get along great.

A couple of nice portraits there Mark. And he'll have someone to help carry his camera when it gets too heavy to manage!

Sent from my cracked folding Samsung.
    Stuff from Cuba
    More stuff from Cuba
    It all started here

Hey! That's one of my backup cameras with its original kit lens, although I prefer the 24-70mm f/2.8 II, which "lives" on my 6D. Not that the 24-105mm f/4 IS is all that bad. But the 24-70 is "WOW!". About as good as the Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO. ;-)

In fitting the lightweight 14-150, F4, my intention was to showcase the compact power of the OMD system -
I emailed him his portraits above to which in reply he made no comment (perhaps out of modesty) - but he did
acknowledge the "nice shot" of a duck! He did not send me any of those he took of ducks as they drifted by.

Larry sold me this lens at an outrageous price after I bought an M5.2 body! I must admit it was in mint condition, original box and all!

He is certainly one of the coolest dudes I've met in a very long time, if ever.

Thanks Larry, that is very interesting info. It's useful to know what the other guy's kit is about. I handed him the M1.2.
He seemed not to like the enhanced EVF colour. He handed me the 6D and I saw the difference; the 6D viewfinder
sees colour just as it is, whereas the M1.2 EVF's colour is close to what the OOC jpg. looks like.
Personally I like the warm Olympus colour, but probably just a matter of what one is used to.
Colour to some extent is an arbitrary perceived differently by one individual to another.

Yeah right! Mark said that I wasn't charging him enough for the lens and so he sent me some extra cash. I think that must be the only case in history where the purchaser drove a very hard bargain and negotiated the price UPWARDS

            Thanks Mark!
