Ok thanks for the clarification John.
Now here's a tricky question, are Leica film images acceptable?
For the sake of absolute transparency on the matter, I have been guilty in the past of posting digi-Leica images, and although I'm somewhat agnostic when it comes to brand loyalty etc, for me digi is just a bunch of 1s and 0s brought to life by RAW converter software, but this is an Olympus 1s and 0s site, and respect is due.
Leica film images are welcome in Nostalgia Nexus, as indeed are any other camera brands. As for posting digi-Leica images in the past, well, nobody complained did they?

Please explain what I've done to offend anyone, all I did was buy a Leica.
It's(was) a terrific site but ruined by the few, the so-called hierarchy, the in crowd, those who fit, the clique, the apostrophe basher etc, need I go on.
If it's possible to resign, then I resign, and gladly.
If you intended to relinquish your membership of this forum or for that matter any other, surely it would have been better to leave quietly whilst preserving a modicum of self dignity. Instead of which you have chosen to make ambiguous statements regarding The In Crowd, Those who fit, The Clique, Apostrophe basher's etc. which I'm fairly sure nobody has the slightest clue who or what your're referring to.
In the circumstances, whilst your photos will be missed here, I sincerely hope you find a forum more suited to your requirements and personality.
It's all rather strange. I don't get why Dave thought behaving like that was necessary or a good idea. Burning bridges is never a good social strategy, even if you were provoked - but I'm really struggling to understand what possible provocation there might have been in this case. All we did was use his post as the starting point for a pedants' argument about apostrophes. Maybe Leica's and apostrophes don't go well together!

Ah, I see what you did there.
The strange thing is, we weren't discussing Dave's use of the apostrophe but that of the cafe owner and we weren't even criticising her but complimenting her on her grammar. Most odd.

It is not the first time DiW has done this. All very very strange.
I have seen it happen before on here where people just blow a fuse and leave, so I have kept quiet.
But...
There have been some insensitive/defensive comments on this thread from my perspective. Dave posts a picture and all he gets are posts discussing the grammar, be it correct or not. He was obviously hurt by this but the replies just kept on coming and he made his decision.
Can we not just close this thread down and move on?

Probably the wise thing to do, but having re-read the thread, I'm still at a loss to understand Dave's response. However, re-reading his farewell post, I must say, it's pretty offensive. Not sure I'd welcome him back without an apology.
Per request I have closed this to avoid further upset
