At sundown it was 46C in the shade.
The extreme atmospheric heat filtered the sun.
I was watering the garden when I saw it. It took 90 seconds to
dash inside and grab a camera, by which time I had missed the best of it.

Too hot for me. You shouldn't be dashing anywhere in that heat. Mad dogs and cameramen eh?

46C wow that sounds awful Mark. I start to struggle if it gets near 30C here. At 46C I'd have melted! or definitely turned nocturnal

Phill, Jim, Mark - 1:30am, it's 30C in Wang' right now, 28C inside. Just turned on the inverter to cool the house down before I turn in. But a cool change is already moving in.
Regarding hot temperatures - when I worked in the glass industry, on certain jobs, we were allowed three minutes then out. If we weren't out, someone came and dragged you out, then it was rest with a glass full of water with salt tablets in before you were fit to go back for another three minutes. All on rotation with the rest of the team on that job.

Mark - Please can we have a status report on the steel frame house.
Derek, the reason for not updating the steel house thread is because a few months back we had a falling out over the most trivial of matters. However, there has been a slight thawing of the acrimony since Xmas, and now that Robyn has moved in I am sure that our previous friendship is recoverable given time. As rain clouds have darkened our skies overnight I will post another exterior photo when the blue returns. 9:30AM, outside temperature has fallen to 20C and we are seeing a little rain once again.
You might have missee the best of it, but what you got is pretty distinctive. I like it. I’ve not taken a truly good sun or sunset photo in perhaps ten years. You’ve got to be lucky (and being there and having the time is a big part of that).

One is smoke haze, the other is fog. Try the Irish Sea at 6:00am on a November morning
