  • Golden Goblets and Golden Fleece

This is a slime mould I found recently on the soft inner wood of a rotting apple tree. As it was all at the same stage of development, it is difficult to identify but this is not the colour of the familiar species there. The cups are about 1mm diameter.

The mesh is the capitillium, on which the spores are borne.

    EM-1, Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, Raynox MSN-202, f16 triple flash.

    Some crosseye stereos.

I have had to make major colour adjustments to these as my stereo software had recently taken to desaturating the colour and shifting the balance.

Thanks. Colour by nature. Some species of Acyria come in several colours. Yellow/gold is less common than pink.
