  • Blackbird on the bird feeder...

I've noticed that the blackbirds are teaching each other to feed at the small birds feeder more and more... I've not seen this behaviour until recently - is this something that is common?

I've also been trying to get the exposure vs noise vs shutter speed balance right and this is on my self imposed limit... 1/1000s, f7.1, 6400ISO just about enough detail not too much noise and reasonable DoF...

I limit myself to ISO 3200 as at 100% crop (necessary if the blighters are at the end of the garden) the nosie begins to show a bit more. Consequently I'm at F4 or 5.6 and rarely faster than 1/1000th seconds. For the last few days I've been shooting on manual (I prefer aperture priority as a a rule) and noticed that in this dull weather that I am often 1 or 1.5 stops underexposed.

      Great shot.

What you have probably seen is the parents teaching their youngsters which is quite common.

      Regards.
