It's long overdue RAIN, not dew

For it’s raining! raining! raining! Don’t you hear the merry din?
Don’t you hear the old earth straining As she sucks the juices in? E.S. Emerson

    Hi there Mark!

You obviously have a different view of rain down under - up here we're heartily sick of the stuff! To add insult to injury we're getting sleet and hail too, but still no proper snow!

Great shot and just goes to show what a great little camera that xz-1 is. Mine is now semi retired as it is mostly replaced by an xz-2, but may well make a few excursions in the hands of my daughter soon.

    Cheers,

    Ralph.

Hi Ralph, we haven't seen rain for months, rivers dry up and pastures wither. I heard on the news that you are in for a chilly wet bank holiday long weekend.

I replaced my xz1 with an XZ2 that wore out so the xz1 is back on duty. Xz1 does better with macros. I hope your daughter appreciates the xz1 for the fine camera it is.

She's eight! She often uses my e-410 and 40-150mm on zoo trips, but that was left at home last time we went, so she tried the xz-2 and liked it. Since the xz-1 is semi retired she may well get that as a stop gap until she gets her own camera. The xz-1 and xz-2 are both great cameras, but the similarities between how I use my e-m1 and xz-2 make it a much less confusing camera for me to use. I was sorry to hear of the demise of your xz-2 - you must have worked it pretty hard!

        Cheers,

        Ralph.

An 8yr old daughter going on 27, right Ralph? That's how kids are these days. I agree, the XZs are both great cameras, frankly from what I've seen displayed here I have to say that I don't see much difference in IQ between a well shot e-m1 and an xz2. I can buy three xz2's for the price of an em1. Admittedly I did give my xz2 a pounding before it eventually died. But I am over cameras and refuse to be lured by dangled fresh carrots anymore. The beauty of an XZ is it's single 27mm-108mm F1.8 lens does landscapes, night shots, portraits and macros exceptionally well.

Nice image, and a reminder the size of your sensor doesn't matter.

Either that or a blemished leaf. I'll shoot a sheet of white paper and we'll know tomorrow.

Not on a leaf - just up a bit and right from your signature, a great red spot.
