  • Robe - South Australia

This time of the year we spend a few days in the pretty lttle seaside town of Robe in the south-east of our state.

    Robe has:
Many walks along the rocky cliffs and an Obelisk.

    Rock arch formations.

    Flags in the main street.

And Captain Mathew Flinders - the locals and tourists delight in adding to his attire. This time it was sunglasses! The hilarious thing was (I thought) that on a return walk past the captain, the glasses had gone. Evidently they were considered better than the new owner's previous glasses.

The flag one is my favourite.

Mine too Harold. I did wonder if they got the order of flying correct. I would have thought the National Flag would have been the highest and not the State Flag.
      Perhaps someone may know.

Lyn, thanks for bringing back my memory of Robe once visited, drove in one side and out the other before realising that it did not exist and by the looks of it, the more things change the more they stay the same! Mind you, that was almost sixty years ago, how time flies. You and Neil spend so much time on the road that you must be eligible for induction into the Grey Nomads.

Glad you enjoyed the photos Mark. It is one of our most favourite spots - especially once the summer holiday crowd has departed.
