A lovely collection, and definitely worth putting the boots on. Hope to see more from your travels.

Fabulous photos of a beautiful area, thanks Ralph.

Brings back memories for me, too. I did my studenting in York and we used to go walking or orienteering in the Dales a bit and I loved the whole area. Never saw it with snow, though. I did the 3 Peaks a couple of times, also several years and several kilograms ago, and found it damned hard work both times!

Lovely set Ralph. Love the last two with the viaduct in the distance. Must get up there myself sometime. I think I may leave it to the summer mind - those shots of yours with the snow and frozen water definitely give the impression of freezing your nut$ off up there!

Re: A Winter Walk on Whernside

              Hi there Everyone!

Thank you for all the kind comments.

Paul - It wasn't as cold as it looked as I was lugging a big rucksack full of camera gear - I was just glad that I didn't have full frame gear to carry.

John - I was at York between 1992 and 1995, but spent a lot more time under the Dales than walking through them, as I spent most weekends with the Caving club.

Beagletorque - The flying scotsman is supposed to be going across at some point soon, but all that went across when I was there was the normal commuter trains. I suppose that I could just photoshop it in afterwards and enter it into a competiton if I change the Exif to show it's a Nikon!

              Alf - Thanks!

MrsT - I hope to be putting the boots on again soon - maybe the Lake district next.

              Cheers,

              Ralph.
