Just having had a birthday - what better time to put in a request for a new lens.
    I decided to go for my first prime - a M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8
First outing was to the Adelaide Central Market.
Loved using my body instead of a zoom.

    Yummy Panettone. f/1.8 1/60sec ISO 200

    Pretty Teapots. f/1.8 1/60sec ISO 1600

Looks like you are a natural with a prime lens, Lyn. Happy belated birthday.

Once again John I think you are being TOO kind about my photography - but I think I am going to enjoy this lens.

I echo Zuiko (the guy, not the lens!) Happy belated 50th Birthday, Lyn ...
The shot looks great, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with the new lens, although for my money
I would rather a new XZ-2 had I not stopped buying cameras. The painting is proceeding through the
inevitable stuff ups, it will be a while yet before I'm ready to exhibit at the Louvre I'm afraid ...

50! I wish. . But thank you for the kind thought.
I will not be at all surprised when your new XZ-2 arrives - Go on - you know you can do it.

You can almost smell that Pannetone, and with a nice cuppa too.
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

I really like the angles in your composition of the tea pots and your use of limited DOF - a well spotted opportunity which shows that you think about choice of subject and composition. I would say that makes you an ideal candidate for a 25mm prime lens.

From one of those pretty teapots David - wouldn't that be nice?

Thank you John - appreciated. I am getting less self-conscious about photographing up close in public. Had to get down very low to get the teapot shot I wanted, but people didn't seem to mind stepping around me.

Good to get the step count up a bit before getting into the tea and panettone!

I guess walking around the market eating a custard bun doesn't count?
