That E.H. Lascelles was a really forward looking chap, never heard of him before, so had a fascinating read.

White seems to be the choice for this area ?
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

Full marks for your research and an intelligent reply, David. I confess to not having taken the trouble to do so myself.

White was probably a conscious choice of the city fathers for the sake of uniformity. Looks great against a blue sky; not so great if overcast when it dons the 'toger's white mantle of death.

You've spent too much time in Havana.

Geelong is a port city located on Corio Bay and the Barwon River, in the state of Victoria, Australia, 75 kilometres south-west of the state capital, Melbourne.

It's beautiful modern city with a population of 180,000.

I think I must have had my eyes shut when we drove through Geelong (several times) Mark, as I cannot recall seeing these lovely buildings.
Ah Geelong - Home of the Geelong AFL team - The Cats! Who give my beloved Crows angst during the footy season and now have stolen one of our star players!
Of course you would know all this being such a keen AFL fan.

Drawn as I am to more cultural pursuits I came upon them quite intuitively Lyn.
Scholarly as I am I'm afraid the rest of your comment is all Swahili to me! ...

Note: Next time you visit Geelong you will find these beautiful buildings opposite Geelong train station, (well away from Kardinia Park)

And should you visit the Art Gallery or Library, be sure to put on a frock!

Mark did you call into the boat house at Geelong for a quick fish supper before your shopping?

It was more a case of having time enough left to do the shopping. I had no idea it was Xmas Eve until David told me when I returned.

If you check the EXIF you'll see it was 7:19AM, way too early for fish & chips to open, Ed.

As the numbers on all your clocks are reversed and the hands go backwards, I doubt that Ed.

It's freezing today, temperature is down to 26'C, I've turned on the heater.
