    There is a photographer about.

I've been fighting a losing battle to keep these pests off the park bird table.

An air rifle will do the job and you can eat them too!

      Hi Nick -

Complain not - the blighter is smiling in shot two.

      Cheese on the table.

        Fabulous pictures Nick

They say if you mix chilli with the bird seed then squirrels will avoid it, if it fails you could try the air rifle and get a ready-seasoned pie

          Re: Keep Your Ears Clean

Somehow I think the Park Rangers would object if I wandered round with an air rifle - though I could try it on the joggers first.

The chilli powder solution - well maybe - but do blue tits and nuthatches like chillies.

But it was interesting to do ground level views of the squirrel without any unpleasant bending (shades of Mr Apollo)

Yikes, you've had me searching for a reference source.

Here's a recent one that says sprinkling chilli powder on seed for birds has mixed results, because it seems that some squirrels quite like the taste.

Apparently it doesn't hurt birds, I think that means taste buds

I can't say I've tried it so I don't know if it works.

I wouldn't mind finding a way of keeping the hordes of starlings off, or at least slow them down a bit
