  • Season of mists ..

As I was walking around Hawes in Wensleydale on Monday afternoon the mist started to form. A few pics, all with the E-M5 plus 40-150 kit lens, minimal pp in DxO Optics 10. Thanks for looking .

    Regards
    Richard

Lovely memories of similar days on holiday out walking. I wish my scenery where I live could offer half as much - lovely open space, stone walls with hills enhanced by the mist.

Thanks all for the nice comments . It had been a beautiful day without a cloud in the sky, and had I not stopped for a couple of refreshing pints on the way home from a walk I'd have missed out on these! The mist was rolling up the dale but I was able to remain above most of it. Post processing was limited to letting DxO do its optical corrections on most of them, with a small amount of "smart lighting" on the last two to lift the foreground a little. It works a bit like a grad ND filter. A small flare blob on no.3 was cloned out with Photoshop. I'd only taken the 40-150 with me at the last minute but I was glad I did!
                        Regards

All these shots are very good, but No 3 is an absolute cracker.

Thanks John . What are people's views on the public footpath signpost in no.3? I'm starting to think it's distracting although I'm not keen on removing things. I guess a crop off the bottom would also fix it.

Cropping away the wall and signpost is certainly an option, which will simplify the composition, but personally I like it just as it is and I think the signpost itself is a bonus rather than a distraction.
