Just picked one of yesterdays photos to see how close I could get it to what you could see, as the mist made the photo very different to the naked eye view...
Not too far away, but "could do better" as a first attempt!
Being from this area, i appreciate this view of our beautiful fens, although it can be very difficult to capture as you see it.
I find the best way is to find a solid base ie tripod, fencepole, wall etc
Set the focus manually to the nearest point you want sharp,select f11 and let the camera set shutter speed. If the first image is not correct, just adjust exposure control until you are happy.
As to the size, 512k is fine, but after you have resized for the forum, I always set 850 pixels for the longest side as a standard download.
