  • Being 74 is not so bad

It was my birthday yesterday and my lovely wife took me out for dinner at our favourite restaurant by our local beach, followed by a stroll to our local harbour quayside as dusk fell.

Here are a few pics that summarise why I decided being 74 and living down here in Christchurch is not so bad

A belated "Happy Birthday," Brian and I'm glad to hear that life is good.

That looks like a birthday celebrated in style Brian. I like all the images but am especially taken by the 'night rider' shot. 1/60 sec is very impressive for a moving subject like that.

Thanks Ron, I was surprised how well that came out (part of a series all which were not too bad)

              I'm liking the EM-1 + 40-150 f2.8 more every time I use it

And a great time was had by all, eh? Some very nice shots there Brian. I take it the alcohol helped....?

Belated happy birthday Brian. I expect Pam enjoyed a quiet dinner on her own while you were taking all those photos

Thanks Keith, unfortunately not. One downside I have found getting older is that I have become allergic one or more of the chemicals produced during production of all alcoholic products (even de-alcoholised wine - yuk! ) so have had to be teetotal for the last 12 years.

I'm a great connoisseur of sparking mineral waters though!

Still browsing through some of the dusk shots and was impressed with the way the camera handled this one

My lovely Pam insisted I take the camera with me! (and as usual, acted as my "Shot-spotter", as in - "have you seen that" just as I'm looking in a completely different direction trying to get a particular shot )

Belated Happy Birthday Brian, it looks like you had an enjoyable day.

I really like your images, especially those of the Needles.

At 74 you've still a long way to go, my Dad will be 80 in January and still goes partying as often as possible!
