  • Lucky evening...

Having not been out with the camera much recently, any visits out were unproductive, so I decided this evening after working all week it was time to visit a spot a few miles away by the river where I knew Barn Owls were present. I had originally put the 9-18 to shoot some sunsets in the reed beds, which I did....then I noticed a single barn owl in the distance, but it didn't come close enough for me to shoot with a 9-18!!

Changed lens as two Barn Owls appeared...i waited and waited and sure enough one came close, but light was fading fast, and low and behold there were 4 young barn owls being feed in a large oak tree, and one flew off and landed not 20yds from me on a post....here are a few then from this evenings short walk.

As Arnie would say I'll be back...

Not the best quality Owl pictures light was beginning to be a problem, but they seem to love this area, so I will try again before they fly the nest....of course one worrying point is will they all survive??

    Cheers

That's a lovely sight Peter. Lucky you. I like fifth one with the owl under the oak leaf canopy.

Very nice Peter, I really like your sunset shots.

The Owls were a real bonus, you did well to catch these.

Next time it will be skill rather than luck that produces good shots.
