  • Spotted Flycatcher

The Spotted Flycatchers have changed nest site this year to a more accessible location in the garden. It's on top of the "Bacchus Head" under the gable end of the garden studio. A little bit dark so shutter speeds down to 1/60th even in good sun. Three youngsters spotted so far, being regularly fed.

And a shot to show the nest position.

Wow, now I am envious. I haven't seen a Spotted Flycatcher yet this year and you have a pair of these dainty birds nesting in your garden. Super shots, especially the close-up.

Thanks Ron. Yes the are a little bit special and incredible flyers. It is magic sitting in the garden as they buzz about around you "snapping" their little beaks shut with a click!

Cracking place for a nest, isn't it? Beautifully anchored in Bacchus' head. Lovely shot.

Thanks Peter. I did get a few shots, but nothing worth posting, they're just so quick in the air!
