Re: Winter Solstice
Very "atmospheric" shots Mark, especially the first one. Not the sort of weather conditions we associate with Oz.
"Up here" it's just after 10pm and there's still some light outside
and the moon is out too.
Next week we are promised a heatwave with 30 degrees C.
Sorry to hear you got the flu in pursuit of your art but I guess you can console yourself with the fact that you didn't get run over by a train taking that shot on a railway bridge in the mist.
Seriously though, I hope you soon shake off the flu and thanks for sharing these very different shots of Oz.
Regards.Peter
she looked at me and said "It's official. I hate your camera. It's just so amazing and perfect I want one!"

Re: Winter Solstice
Mark,
I do like both photos but the first one is breathtaking. The solstices have been an important time for me for a while and these photos show that the magic isn't just limited to the UK. Thank you for risking life and limb to take them. I hope you get better soon.

Re: Winter Solstice
Hi there Mark!
That first photo is simply amazing - the second isn't half bad either. As the days are getting longer for you they are getting shorter now here for us - and we're still waiting for summer to kick in. Personally I'm looking forward to shorter days - I've been stuck in work for the morning "golden hour" for an month and have been missing it.
Hope you are feeling better soon, keep posting the images!
Cheers,
Ralph.

Re: Winter Solstice
Lovely misty shots Mark. I sympathise with the flu. The only time I've been to oz I came back with swine flu! I was lucky to get back through security. Work wouldn't let me go back for two weeks so there was some compensation

Re: Winter Solstice
Fog is typical here at this time of year. Sunrise around 8:00AM, it's dark around 5:00PM, Av' temp -1c to + 12c, but as we all know, climate is changing.Originally posted by PeterBirder View PostVery "atmospheric" shots Mark, especially the first one. Thanks Peter ... I thrive on sympathy
... I didn't get run over by a train although I felt I had.

Thsanks Lyn - Sandra had flu shots and very, very sick as do many people. For me, I prefer not to damage my natural immune system which has always got me through quickly a few days of miseryOriginally posted by Floribunda View PostTwo lovely shots Mark. I am sorry on two counts - the first that summer is on the way back, I love winter, and the second that you have had two bouts of flu.
Of course, if a certain somebody had had their flu shot .............

Aha, the dreaded "Swine" flu! What a clever marketing name that is - I mean who's afraid of "Bird flu", sounds rather nice!Originally posted by Phill D View PostLovely misty shots Mark.
