Vinales is quite a small place with mostly low rise bungalows painted in garish colours to attract tourists, as families compete for the tourist dollar. Everybody seems to have a spare room(s) for rent and I'm pretty sure the tourist influx is a significant part of the population during holiday season. The "village" consists of 1 main street with side roads going off into the countryside with buildings either side. We were lucky in that our "Casa" was at the end of the road, nearly in a tobacco field!
View of half the main street from the top of the church tower.

Road back to main street.

A typical bungalow.

They do boast a library named after the "famous" Cuban writer...

We donated the last of our Spanish / English vocab books.
The librarian kindly posed for a photo and did her best to look delighted!

Also spotted this service department on the main street.

Luckily I did not need any camera repair work!
