This one was raised from an egg by it's handler, feeding him worms etc then as he grew his diet moved on to small mammals. Owls like freshly killed food as they are not scavengers like Red Kites or Buzzards.
In the wild their target prey is dead the moment the Owl locks on to it, the impact alone kills the animal which is why you very rarely see an Owl fy off with a wriggling prey mammal in it's talons.
Now, do you still want one?!
You would need to breed mice as well just to feed it!
