I dont know how well Pics that have been worked in PS go down on here
Here are a couple I played with. The chuck wagon always struck me as being like a punch and judy stage and I felt that the comic book look would work well

I got the idea for the next one from some paint by numbers my nephew was doing.

The orginal images were taken with my E510 but if this type of finnish image offends please remove and I'll stick to post just photos

I like the paint-by-numbers on the phone box! Not my scene, but I like it!

Do you want sauce...... Only if those sausages are well done.

I like the one above - can you share how you processed the image please.

        Re: Processed shots

I like all good images however they are produced. As this is a camera-users' forum there should be a strong element of the camera rather than software in it IMO, but I for one am happy to see creative use of software rather than simply an applied effect. I like the cartoon - well done, and I should also like to know what the processing steps were. PS: it is always interesting to have the original shot to compare the results...

          For example:
Here's an original. It was a dull day and the photo is softish, bland and of marginal use. But I was able to rescue it.

I wanted to crop and use the diagonal of the fence to underpin some structure to the image. The fence is grainy so I know that using 'ink outlines' or 'poster edges' in Photoshop will enhance that effect (one of several ways). First I adjusted red saturation up a little to enhance the vibrant pinks and turned yellow down a little to reduce the greens. Then I tried ink outlines but that was a mess. Adjusting poster edges, however, gave a pleasing result, picking out the leaves and giving the image more solidity. Finally I applied a little unsharp mask and it produced a photo that some found praiseworthy when I uploaded to flickr:

I was pleased that the photo could be rescued in this way.. what do you think?

            Thanks for your comments.
I have just finnished working along stretch of nights at work so will be asleep alot this weekend and no proper access to PC with my images on the ones I have posted on here are ones i had on photobucket. When I get to orginal images I will post and how the effect is done an orginal idea by any means and I'll try to remember how I did the phonebox one which was a case of messing till I got what was needed.
As for this type of image I often shot something with an effect in mind and sometimes an effect will present itself as I process images with varied success but I do agree its a camera users forum and do intend to focus more on that aspect of stuff I have done. For one thing I need lots of pratice at get things right in camera and loads to learn about how my camera works.
@Makonde I see what you mean about showing the differances and the finnished shot is much improved and I do like way have used poster edges.

              Interesting effects!

Has anyone used PhotoArtMaster - this is quite effective in giving photos a water colour painted look. It does require some skill to get the best out of it, though.

                  Re: Processed shots

For the phone box by numbers I first made a copy of image and made a line drawing effect by using fliter> other > highpass set at a fairly low level then got rid of grey by going to image adjustment> threshold played with slider till lines we as i wanted. Then I made a copy of background image and went to fliter>artistic>poster edges again playing till i had what i wanted. Making sure the poster edges layer was above the line drawing layer used rubber to reveal the line drawing.
orginal image wasnt up to much but taken as a record of an out of the way phone box

                    Re: Processed shots

The comicbook effect was done using most of the steps from this site http://www.macmerc.com/articles/Graphics_Tips/209
ajusting things to how i wanted as i went on and then added text boxes and bubble . There is an PS action to do this effect but its very hit and miss I found its alot better doing it manualy

This is a cropped version of the orginal image i cant find the orignal

Black and white conversion used in processing

Sorry I'm not very good at explain things like this.

I have also stuggled to upload images and found the only way I can do it is to do from Photobucket
When i tried to put in gallery first I got error that file size was too large although i had reduced in PS

No I have not tried that program but sounds interesting I will have to google and see if there is a trial for it.
