  • Still Lots of Colour in the Forest

Even on a gloomy day like today.

Not sure if the panning/slow shutter speed works on the last one or not.

Good colours. No, I don't think the horsey one works as well as intended.

Looks like it could be a good meet at the weekend, just keep away from those lovely bright white skies, btw the horsey one doesn't really work for me either.

The colors look great in the first two shots. I agree that the panning one is a little off, but you did much better than I have. I tried this with cars going by at different speeds and could not get any to come close to yours. I'm still experimenting.

lovely colours and good detail on the leaves in the 2nd shot. I don't think that the horse one quite worked I guess you were wanting to have the horse and rider in sharp focus and the rest blurred. It nearly worked, certainly a lot better than my poor efforts at panning, keep trying your not far off getting a good one.

            Dear Andy,

Another good example that it is a much better idea to go out and take some pictures than stay in reading AP!

            Cheers

Andy, I'm really jealous that you had time to visit the forest today. As I drove to work today I thought the colours were probably at their peak. I don't mind overcast and grey, those conditions often give better saturation to the foliage than sunshine and really make the colours pop. I can even handle fine rain or drizzle (although I'm really hoping for a sunrise with wisps of mist rising from the lake) but please, oh please, let there be no wind between now and Sunday!

              Nice shots BTW Andy!

A friend has been walking his dog around Connaught water and says that they have been shooting an advert using fake snow.

They have made a bit of a mess of one side by all accounts.

Just don't be surprised on Sunday.
