    I rather suspect that the bells and whistles are really more of a marketing gimmick, Stephen, than anything else. They probably help to attract non or inexperienced photographers to buy model X rather than Model Z, whereas us experienced wallahs look for the performance we want form the camera, what lenses it supports, etc.

      Of course people have their own opinions which I too respect. I was simply expressing one of my own.

        My E-500 has an 8mp sensor and my E-M5 has 16mp. If I went back to using the E-500 I would miss the significantly improved high ISO performance of the E-M5 much more than I would miss the extra pixels.

          Ah yes, well put, I see what you mean. Although high ISO performance (above ISO800) has never been of particular concern to me as I don't like what it does to colour. I prefer to work around it.
