  • A visit to Chester Zoo

    Hi there everyone!

Due to having workmen in plastering our house, I have had a week off this week, and in order to get out from underfoot I decided to go to the zoo for a bit of shutter therapy. Needless to say the gorgeous low sunlight had completely disappeared by the time I arrived, to be replaced with overcast, a bitter wind and a temperature of about 4 degrees. The majority of the animals were also a bit fed up with the weather, as you might tell from their expressions!

    1. "Why the long face?"

    2. "Wheres my cup of PG?"

    3. The three wise monkeys

    4. Let sleeping cats lie

    5. "Simples, Sergei"

    6. "Who you looking at?"

After a couple of hours in the cold I decided to warm up in the butterfly house, but that will be another post. Thanks for looking and any comments very welcome!

    Cheers,

    Ralph.

Seems you had a good break from house sitting, all nice shots.

The giraffe shot is outstanding and well worth putting at the top.

6/6 for this lot, Ralph. I can't pick a favourite, I like each image as much as the next, although the Three Wise Monkeys comes close.

That's a nice collection, you have used the time off very well!

A lovely set of grumpies there, Ralph! I love the expression on the giraffe's face, and the down in the dumps look of the three monkeys.

A lovely set, but for me the three wise monkeys are the best. It's a big zoo. We've been twice and I'm still not sure we saw it all.

Lovely shots and a nice reminder of what used to be a close neighbour, so much so that the Lions, Gibbons and Chimps often times woke us when the wind was in the West

Great shots despite the weather - I love the Three Wise Monkeys.

                    Hi there everyone!

Having some problems with my computer so I can't say a personal thanks for every comment but all the comments are much appreciated. Can I ask everyone whether they find the two white hairs on the middle of the three wise monkeys distracting? They seem to draw my eyes in more than they should.

                    Cheers,

                    Ralph.

Left one's got some, too. I hadn't noticed them until you said...then couldn't stop looking at them! They'd be easy to clone out, I guess. Perhaps they look glum because they've just looked in a mirror and noticed grey hairs!

That was the problem I had - once I'd spotted them I couldn't ignore them. I'll have to have a go at cloning them all out.

                        Cheers,

No four on left and two on right plus centre did not notice until you mentioned them I would leave as they are part of the original shot?
