  • Moray Road Trip

IainMacD and I were back on the road today for a short trip around Moray. The weather was forecasting to be changeable with the likelihood of snow. It wasn't wrong!

    1. We started at the Daltullich Bridge over the River Findhorn. It was a little cold but no sign of snow - yet.

    2. We followed the Findhorn for a few miles heading south. As we reached the Dava Moor we found the snow and some fantastic light over a golden lochan and snow-dusted hills.

    3. Our last port of call was the Edinkillie Viaduct. The sun had already dropped below the horizon and the temperature had plummeted with it. The sky was very bland but it still made for a decent image. About 1 minute after this was taken we were in a heavy snow shower and it was time to leave.

The second shot's a bit special.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

A nice set of shots Steve; I'm struggling to find anything different and of suitable quality to add to your post, but here goes (I hope the links work):

          1. Same bridge, different rocks

          2. Flow

          3. Barn and bridge

          4. Looking in the opposite direction to the viaduct

          Thanks for looking

Lovely sets from both of you, I like the second image of both sets.

Iain, I'd like to see how your second image would look with the grass bank cropped out, there's something about that image I really like.

I thought that keeping a thin strip of the far bank would help define the river, but now I am thinking that it needs taking out completely? What are your views?

                    Thanks Iain,

After commenting, I scrolled the image down and viewed it without the bank, I think taking the bank out completely looks better.

I appreciate that this is subjective as the original image is very good anyway.

I think that a minimal strip of bank, without that straggly, dead vegetation works well.
