Re: Oh What a night it was.
Considering all your "problems" you ended up with some really nice shots.
The auto switch of the EVF would never have occurred to me either. Must remember that tonight as me and the kids are going to try some light trails using sparklers when it gets dark. We were planning on a second lot of fireworks just to play with the camera, but everywhere we tried yesterday was sold out.OMD E-M1, 12-40 f2.8 pro, 40-150 f2.8 pro, MC-14, MMF-3 & 70-300 f4-5.6

Re: Oh What a night it was.
Thanks I was generally please but there are too many images with rain drops on the lenses, but then again it could have been a lot worst.
Hope that works for you tonight, seems like a great idea, will watch for your results.

Re: Oh What a night it was.
Despite everything you got some good shots.
On the E-M1, if you get raindrops on the eye sensor, it presumes your eye is against the EVF and refuses to display on the LCD.Stephen

Re: Oh What a night it was.
Thanks Steve I did think at the time it may have been water on the EVF sensor but all looked dry. So pleased I've been able to reproduce what was happening at home what all the lights are out.Originally posted by StephenL View PostDespite everything you got some good shots.

Re: Oh What a night it was.
Thanks Mick makes a much better picture when you can get everything in the frame. That's what I tell my wife and then say I need the 7-14mm lensOriginally posted by Mickg View PostI'd say it was worth the ordeal. The 5th & last are particularly nice.

She says she needs a holiday so guess which wins.

Re: Oh What a night it was.
Well done for persevering, you certainly had the odds stacked against you - not least the appalling weather. Despite this you still got some keepers and also gained invaluable experience for next year, when it will be dry.

Thanks for sharing the story as well as the photos. I've not looked through my fireworks shots yet but I do know I had problems with the focussing. Most used: EM5i + 12-200mm, In briefcase: E-PM2 + 12-42mmEZ
