    Here is a shot I took on a ferry leaving Tyne mouth of the Southshields Lighthouse.

                  The contrast was areal issue on this shot.

                    Lovely composition. If it was mine I would lose much of the sky though. Others will probably disagree but hey ho.

                      There speaks a judge - but I have to agree. Losing the top half or so of the sky would make it even better.

                            I'd be even more ruthless, another 10% off the top , just leave the shafts of light against the dark cloud. I'd take 10% off the bottom as well making it more of a letterbox crop.

                            It just proves that we all see things differently and long may that continue

                              Hi there Alf!

                              I would say the second is the better, and might even have gone for a square crop with just a little more sky - but we are all different! However it is presented it's a great photo.

                              PS It must have been quite a big ferry as you are well above the lighthouse - were you off to Scandinavia?
