Snaps shots of Dragons at Hinton Ampner, Nr. Winchester, Hampshire yesterday - not sure of the genre' - help please ?

I was really SCARED of upping the ISO to 1000, but am impressed, what do you think about noise ?

    EXIF : Olympus OM-D EM-1 ; Lens m43 75/300 ; Shutter Priority 1/1250 sec. ; Exposure Manual ; ISO 1000 ; F 6.0 ; AF : Focal length 75-187.00mm

I was on a bit of a jack of all trades day - acting Nanny Sole Charge for one little girl and met up with friend who is "home schooling" her two children (she, having dropped hubby of in Winchester for a meeting) and we sat chatting and educating our "charges" for the day ; enjoying the warm sunshine and our picnic lunches ... Conquers and Chestnuts after an Art and Culture lesson in the Big House including the Queens, Mother staying for Tea and Bark Rubbing too !

and I kept grabbing my camera to grab a shot

NO C-AF ; NO TR just S-AF every time ... of 200 frames I have 120 of these, which really impressed me of the ONE +75/300 lens combination

I fell over myself, looking at the raw images on the big 37" screen

    ps no "swopping" here
    Enjoy !

A fine set of images Chevvy, high iso noise or not. You have shown the wing movement and body colour / detail well

The first one is superb Chevvy.

The dragonfly(flies) is a Southern Hawker.

          Regards.

Hi Ed, Gus, Brain, Ron and Mark Thank You all I have to say its more about the "Oly Kit" than me - this kit is SUPERB

Peter, I hoped it was a Southern Hawker as I have never managed to capture one before and do so love their colours

Gus, it is the ? after - I did not use C-AF Nor TR - people keep on moaning that C-AF is not good not TR - I am not a Pro and am chuffed with my "hobbyist" Dragonflys in Flight captured with S-AF - as my Birds in Flight This Kit is superb, even I can get Bif and now Dif - Dif being so much smaller and move about even more than Bif and are hard to follow

Don't you just LURVE Olympus ? I do

Mark, the first is the best hence 1st

Chevvy, you did extremely well with a very difficult subject. I tried it once and couldn't even get the little b*st*rds in frame!

As for the noise, what noise? OK, if you go looking in the defocussed background at 100% you'll find it - but nobody else will.
